We are thinking of taking our first cruise on Holland America in 2025 to the Caribbean. The Eurodam is the ship that's available for the cruise. Being you were on it recently was the ship in good shape considering it's a older ship? How is the service, food and entertainment? We normally cruise Celebrity Soltice and edge class ships. Thank you.

I've seen the Viking boats in Lyon, Budapest and Porto. It made me sad when I realized that these people will never experience the fine food and wines that are served only a few hundred feet away.

Currently on Seabourn with amazing 🤩 food we were a bit worried about HAL food but we are excited not worried about our upcoming Noordam cruise thanks to your food guide 😍

making smore's around a campfire is undoubtedly one of the most core parts of American culture that you can experience in my opinion. Alaska was a prime setting but there are many more settings across the beautiful land that is America to do so in. I love watching your video because I can relive my experience on Holland America cruise lines but also the things I missed when I visited. So glad you had a wonderful experience!

Terrible food and grocery store wines. Get off the boat and eat with locals.

Couldn’t describe such a ship better. Visually proportioned. And. Oh, the open deck space! So refreshing. Some other features of ships like this also show the change of sensibility over time. Like the lounge aspect at the landing of the atrium. Maybe there was a time when the sky-high atrium was a new, exciting place to spend time. Maybe that’s one reason atriums have become stunted over time like on the newer at most, four deck high atriums on more modern ships. Maybe it’s just not as exciting or new for guests any longer. A beautiful ship they’ve contemporized swimmingly…eh…..so to speak. And kept “retro” in other cool and quirky ways - like the reflective metal ceiling in the gym. Lolz. Love it!

Speaking of a new vlog approach! Brilliant. Simply masterful. And, speaking of new, I’m surprised I’ve never considered Holland America for Alaska. Now, Alaska isn’t fifth on my list of dream destinations, but like Moana, it calls me. There is certainly much to learn about the rich (not to be confused with the narrator), dynamic history and natural lushness of Alaska and the bear rescue in Sitka was something very new for me to learn about. On another note, more ships need a Tamarind Bar. Reminiscent of the full circle Viking Crown Lounges on the older Royal Caribbean ships. Some old is good old.

Do you know how much clearance there is under the bed in the veranda room for luggage? If I have a trunk style luggage, will it fit?

Another great review - we are on Nova later this year & really looking forward to it. I do have a question if you are able to answer - did you find that there was noise from the next cabin with the connecting door? We are looking at a cruise on Silver Ray & the suite we would like is an adjoining one but we have had major issues with these types of room in the past. I was just wondering if SS have managed to address this and install decent soundproofing......thank you

Sounds like you really needed the 2 week cruise.

There is so much to see I booked a 14 night from Vancouver which is a north/south trip with a different itinerary coming south on Princess for this August. Watching this I have no regrets booking a longer voyage.

We can’t wait to cruise Alaska with HAL next summer embarking in Vancouver. All my last 4 Alaska cruises were 5:47 with Celebrity and departed from Seattle. Thank you so much for your thorough videos. Keep up the good work! 😊

The main dining room is stunning. It has a winter wonderland essence to it. Since discovering an auto-immune disease rendering me allergic to gluten, eggs, bean and almonds, fish and steak have been especially appetizing to my transitional diet that my entire body is having a rather rough time getting used to. I know cruise lines are very accommodating with diet issues, so it'd be really great to see how Cunard takes on the challenge. Though the view alone may make Sir Samuel's worth the extra upcharge. Aranya looks like a goldmine for accommodating such allergies. That Roasted Wild Turbot looks beautifully rich and flavorful. Tamales and dishes like it have become the most for me. The Carinthia Lounge looks amazing. I love how Cunard emphasizes the views up and down the boat deck. Wouldn't mind one of those distinctively Cunard/Queen Anne tea cups and saucers.

A third of the way through this video, and these two have already eaten 17 cakes. God DAMN!
